So as you can see, these items did not just appear out of nowhere. PAM Y sent them to us! Last year she was a life saver in the food department as we worked with teens. Now, she is caring for us from afar! Pam, you rock! And for a funny story: It was about this time last year that we were going to be taking some teens on a trip to help in New Orleans (NO). Pam meticulous prepared the food for us to transport. One evening, we were having nachos, which of course, requires nacho cheese. So Marcus's job was to securely put the lid in the trash. He tossed the lid as a Frisbee, but it didn't quite make the landing for which he had hoped and it returned like a boomerang. He tried to recover it by using his bare foot to break the fall, but to his dismay the lid acted as a meat slicer and cut an artery in his foot. It would not stop bleeding, so he reluctantly went to the hospital. This was quite an event, especially in NO, where there were not many docs. It severed a tendon, so we spent the greater part of the summer doing toe lifts to rehabilitate his big toe. Pam, Paula promises to closely supervise Marcus with the contents of this package, so he doesn't get choked on the Gatorade or swallow the gum. Oh what a fun life we lead; thanks for caring :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
No this is not a picture of the hobbit's foot, but the scar reminds us of our trip to N.O.
